Music in 2009

This year a lucky year for new music, half my favorite artists are/have putting/put out new stuff! Here is some of it.

Actor, St Vincent. It came out this February. Laughing with a Mouth of Blood and Save Me from What I Want are my favorite tracks. It has an awesome dark, magical feeling to it. The instrumentation is beautiful and Annie Clark's voice is clear and powerful.

Far, Regina Spektor. This one came out in June. Eet and One More Time with Feeling are my favorite tracks, and spend the money for the deluxe edition, the extra songs are awesome.
Finally a recorded version of Time is All Around and Sword and the Pen is beautiful.

Bomb in a Birdcage, A Fine Frenzy. This is her second album, and it's amazing. So much better then her first, which was beautiful, but was so over-produced and shiny it lost all of it's emotion. Bomb in a Birdcage is exciting, and hopefully and just oozed
character. Electric Twist and Beacon are probably my favorites, but there aren't really any weak tracks.

Twelfth Night Soundtrack, Hem. A track listing hasn't been released yet, but even if it's just the songs from the play, it's going to be magical.

Life at Eddie's Attic, The Civil Wars. Remember Joy Williams? CCM artist? The Civil Wars is her new folk band, and they released a live EP. It's kinda short, but really beautiful. Poison and Wine and 20 Years are my favorites.

Harry Potter 6, Nicholas Hopper. Best soundtrack ever maybe? Yeah. Malfoy's Mission and When Ginny Kissed Harry are my favorite tracks, but seriously? They are all hauntingly perfect. In Noctem practically made me cry the first time I heard it, and that was before I'd even seen the film.

Run Rabbit Run, Sufjan Stevens. This, I haven't the foggiest what it will be like. All I know is the the release date is in October, and that finally, Sufjan is giving us some new music! I know it will be awesome.

Forget and Not Slow Down, Relient K. So that horrible Shannon woman broke Matt's heart, so I expect this cd to be full of heartbroken ballads. Ohmygawd, I can NOT wait! It's coming out October 6th!

I miss my sister. She started college. I have a job and my own school. I work early morning, so I'm gone before she even wakes up. Then I come home, do all my school, and when I'm done and have free time at like 5, my sister JUST gets home! Then she has to do all her work, and then when she's done I have to go to bed because I have work the next morning at 6am! I MISS HER. Our schedules collide very badly.

PS. I love Life, I miss Life, I want Charlie to buy a golden retriever.
