I used to hate dude singers, but my horizons have been broadened a bit. I still only really like folky/calming/zen/hopeful/sad songs sung by men with lots of pianos/acoustic guitars/harmony. A very narrow category I am full aware. But here are some examples.
Signal Fire, Snow Patrol
This Town, Wesley Jensen
Lifelong Lullaby, Will Derryberry
He Doesn't Know Why, Fleet Foxes
The Scientist, Coldplay
A Lack of Color, Death Cab for Cutie
Flightless Bird, American Mouth, Iron and Wine
More Than Alive, Hayden
Learning How to Die, Jon Foreman.
Hmmm. I didn't even NOTICE until I uploaded the photos that all these album and single covers have the same warm browns and oranges... Strange.
