"Part of this Complete Breakfast"

Oh gods. The joys of breakfast food. I'm not much of a breakfast eater, in that I don't get hungry till after 10am. And now that I have to get up for work at 5am three days a week, breakfast in my life is nonexistent. But it's always made me kinda sad, my inability to eat big breakfasts, because there is NOTHING like breakfast food. I MEAN NOTHING. Which is why, in my book at least, there isn't much more superb then going out to a diner at like 11:30 for a big old breakfast, complete with coffee and orange juice.

Drinks are imperative in the morning. Coffee of course is the most important if you have a busy day ahead, but so is juice. Also tea if you're feeling lazy, hot chocolate on special occasions, chai if you're feeling dangerous, milk if you're that sort of person.

Breakfast meats are also important. I am a big meat eater, and if it were up to me, I'd have it at every meal. The problem is, meat needs to be prepared. So, usually I don't have any with breakfast. Bacon is great, sausages too. Canadian Bacon (all ham is good ham) is especially awesome with pancakes. Sometimes people have steak with eggs too.

Fruit is also pretty good in the morning. Especially melon. When fruit is out of season (the curse of living somewhere cold), I try to have at least some jelly or dried cranberries in the morning.

Eggs are the old standby when it comes to breakfast foods. Scrambled, fried, hard-boiled, poached, soft-boiled or baked in a quiche, they're traditional and unbeatable.

Then, let us not forget, there are the wonderful starchy things. Pancakes. French Toast. Waffles. Biscuits. Toast. All of which should be covered mercilessly in syrup, butter and jelly. (and whipped cream, if you're one of those people.)

Cereals and oatmeal are also a very popular breakfast choices. Not my favorite personally, but to each his own, right?

Then there is that crap that people pretend is breakfast food, but it's dessert in disguise. For example, cinnamon buns.

This, my friends, is a complete breakfast. All of the above. Together. Living in harmony. Hallelujah Amen.
