End of a year, end of a decade.

This was going to be an awesome post about the decade, but I've only lived through two decades, and I only really started listening to music and watching movies and DOING stuff in the 2000's, so that list would have everything from Point of Grace to Lady Gaga, and that's just too much of my life to canvas. So, it will just be a post remembering the year. Presenting, Things That Will Forever Be 2009 For Me.

UFO Sightings, Sufjan Stevens (Winter '09) Practically everything Sufjan does is wintery, and we began listening to him last January. UFO Sightings is one of my favorite songs by him and makes me feel very reminiscent.

Love That Boy, Innocence Mission (Spring '09) I think I had this song on repeat for the entire month of April, no lie. It's my favorite Innocence Mission song, and always makes me think of my birthday and DC trip because I listened to it in the car on the way down and up.

Starstruck, Lady Gaga (Summer '09) I decided I liked Lady Gaga thanks to this song, which I first heard thanks to Fringe. I listened to it non-stop all summer and never got tired of it. Seriously.

Coin Laundry, Lisa Mitchell (Fall '09) Thank you Binsybaby for posting about this song! I listened to it all October. I would put in on repeat on the laptop while writing my history papers (and reading Percy) in Pratt's cafeteria.

Life (Spring and Summer '09) I remember the PAIN I felt when it was officially canceled. I signed petitions, voted about 50 billion times on EW's Save One Show poll. One remains my favorite episode of any tv show. I'll miss Charlie and Dani and Tidwell forever.

The X-Files (Summer and Fall '09) So I'm about ten years late to the party, late is better then never. I've been waiting a long time to watch this show, ever since I was like 5. And it's more then just Mulder and Scully and aliens. It has Skinner and Pendrell and Flukemonsters!

Coraline (Winter '09) I read the book for the first time in February, and then my sister and I went to see the movie when it came out in March. I love Coraline in any incarnation, and it's always going to remind me of '09.

Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince. (Summer '09) After this movie was pushed back every day was a challenge, every day was one day closer. We saw it twice in theaters and listened to the soundtrack obsessively all summer and fall. I hope Hopper does the score for the next movies!

The Beckoning Road, Caroline Dale Snedeker (Spring '09) Do you know the feeling when you find out that your favorite book on earth, that book with a perfect ending, has a sequel? And then fear settles in but you're dying to read it anyway? Well, I found it and read it and it was perfect all over again.

Miss Pettigrew Lives for a Day, Winnifred Watson (Summer '09) This book is a sparkling little treasure. I hate talking about books that way, but it's true, and it brightened my entire summer, just by existing.

Percy Jackson and the Olympians, Rick Riordan (Fall '09) These books are just charming. They're not epic and they're not Harry Potter, but you can't deny them their own place in the world of children's lit. I have a soft spot for mythos that these books fit right into.

Lois and Clark, Smallville (Spring - Fall '09) Finally, the OTP of the ages is together in harmony! Sure they'll break up about twenty times next season, but they always get back together, and that's what's so reassuring about Clois.

Annabeth and Percy, Percy Jackson (Fall '09) Annabeth isn't the most likable character, but I love her because Percy loves her. Their misconstrued hints to each other are adorable, and their ending is perfect. But beware their fanfic, seriously, don't go near that stuff.

Scully and Mulder, X-Files (Summer - Fall '09) I don't think you can describe them in a sentence. They're just amazing and adorable and will have been together for 18 years this March. That's true love people. "Sure. Fine. Whatever."

Washington DC Birthday Trip (April '09) I had a choice for my 16th birthday. A huge party like my sister had, $2,000 or a vacation. I picked vacation. My dad and I went to DC for 5 days, and I did whatever I wanted. I swam and went to the movies and ate too much and went to every museum I could fit in. It was amazing.

Homeschool Convention (May '09) This was just awesome. I got The Beckoning Road, I got hyped about school, and I finally got a peak at the Secret Sanctum Of Homeschool Moms. But to be honest it was a lot less exciting then I had once thought...

Twelfth Night at The Delacorte Theater (June '09) I went twice because I'm awesome, and because it was just. that. good. The music was especially spectacular, and we own the soundtrack. Getting to see Anne Hathaway preform where I met her two years prior was amazing.

Getting a job at Moretti Bakery (August - the present '09) This totally changed my year. I got out more, I made money, I started waking up at 5am. And for the first time ever, I fell behind in school. Oops.

Also this year I've fallen in love with Howl Pendragon, Foxy Smulder, Percy Jackson, Draco Malfoy, Prince Naveen, Matthew Goode, Kelly Blatz, Spencer and Freddie, Josh Jackson and Carey Grant. Not in that order. It's been a good year, no?

Good grief, this took me almost an hour to do. Yawn. Off to do nothing until midnight.

Ten fanarts, ten fandoms

What the title says. And as always with fanart posts... Click the pics to see them fullsize.

Howl and Sophie, burdge-bug.
Just finished this book and I still haven't recovered from it's amazingness! This is like one of five fanarts on DA that are bookverse instead of movieverse. Also I dumped Naveen for Howl.

Singing in the Rain, The-Closet-Menace.
Re-watched this movie on the way up to Boston last week, fell in love with Gene Kelly all over again.

Eloise and Widmore, Buuya.
Lost's biggest problem is that the minor characters are always WAY more interesting then the main characters. Oh well.

Sonny and Chad, DKCissner.
Chad giving Sonny (another) autographed photo of himself. Really Chad, really?

Eilonwy, HarperJade.
Why do these books get no love? They're awesome! But there's no fandom, no fanfic or fanart, and all we have is that really bad Disney movie of The Black Cauldron. Phooey.

Invincible, burdge-bug.
Yup, more Percy Jackson. The Last Olympian was pretty epic.

Padme and Ani, LynnOnline.
I don't really like them much, but this picture is so cute! The second movie did have it's moments.

Michael and Delysia, Fullmetalpyrate.
I loved this books so much, and the movie was so awesome too! Everyone needs to go read Miss Pettigrew!

Charlie Crews, thecosmicdancer.
My little fruit loving Charlie! This is the ONLY piece of Life fanart on DA that isn't a photo college.

Isi, spicysteweddemon.
I want to buy a copy of The Goose Girl illustrated by her.

I am enjoying an entire day doing absolutely nothing. At all. Now leave me alone so I can get back to wasting time.

Everyone loves a good sweater

It's over. I'm back. Happy New Year. Etc. Behold, the scary tradition of Christmas sweaters.

Ohh! The
irony!

Awkward cut, right?

Scariest one I could find.

This one isn't so bad I suppose.

This was selling for, I kid you not, $40 on Etsy.

This one I might actually wear.

Ah, Massachusetts was awesome. I got to see Walden to take a tour of Orchard House and we ate at awesome diners and hung out with family and now I just want to sleep forever.

More Stuff I Got For Christmas

My parents are wonderful, indulgent people.

Percy Jackson Hardcover Complete Boxed Set. I AM IN HEAVEN. Percy my love, I love you.

Seth Way by Caroline Dale Snedeker. This was actually from Nana, I just didn't post bout it before.

Slytherin Beanie. Well, I knew about this one, but I unwrapped it anyway.

The Demi-god Files. I didn't actually ask for this one, but I'm so happy I got it! Percy Jackson goes to the Staten Island Zoo.

Graveyard Book by Neil Gaiman. I um, actually never finished this one, stupid library fines... But now I can!

Bomb in a Birdcage. Been waiting for this cd for SOO LONG! You the best parents.

Pushing Daisies Season 2. Now I own both! Poor show, its life was cut short in the most brutal manner.

Most of my friends get laptops and iphones and Wii systems for Christmas. I, well, I go old-school. So Merry Christmas, enjoy your presents, eat lots of food, try not to get sick, and I'll see you next week.

Rich people need stuff to wear too

So we were in Manhattan yesterday, admiring windows, and I came to the never-before-heard-of conclusion that rich people have it better then us.
What a notion.

Christmas lights admiring tonight! And Canarsie Market. And Burger King.
Today I am exhausted. But I am an exhausted person who happens to own a Slytherin beanie. There is a difference you know.

O! good God! or, Scully's dog dies.

Soo, you know how I did those two Smallville picspams which were very funny thank you very much? Today I'm doing one for the X-Files, for Quagmire. This picspam will be light on plot though, so don't expect to understand what's going on. Ready, set, go.

"Don't the characters introduced before the credits usually die?"
Then prepare to get dead.

"You woke me up on a Saturday morning and I came cause I like you and everything but this better be good."
Come on hon, you know him better then that.

"Oh."
Yup.

"People who believe in aliens and sea monsters and ghosts are stupid and dumb and fake scientist. Also frogs are important."
Awkward. Something tells me you'll be dead before the end of these 43 minutes.

"We look good with this umbrella, don't we?"
Is it even raining in this scene?

"People who DON'T believe in aliens and sea monsters and ghosts are stupid and dumb and fake scientist."
Still awkward, although you might make it through this episode alive.

"Now two people are dead, but people die all the time. And I still don't believe you, and it's still not actually raining, so put away the umbrella Mulder."
But you look pretty with it!

"I am the sheriff here! And although three people are now dead, I don't believe you even more then your partner doesn't believe you."
You're having a bad day Mulder.

"Ah! It tried to eat me! I believe you!"
Seeing is believing.

"Woof"
Oh, look it's Scully's dog who the creepy old psychic gave her and who she gave a bath too in that episode with the cockroaches.

"I'm going to walk my dog alone in the dark where the monster lurks, but don't bother coming, I'm fine."
And Mulder is all like, sure, fine, whatever, I'm busy.

"Nooo!"
Don't go walking alone in monster infected woods and your dog won't die.

"Blah, blah, blah, man up and listen to this FBI smart people stuff."
Way to be insensitive Mulder, her oddly named dog just died.

"Why am I on a boat in the middle of the night? Why am I here? Why am I still working with you?"
Cause you love him. Now shut up and do your job.

"Kapow, randomly shoots water"
Intense fear and fighting off of sea monsters while stuck on a rock ensues.

"Mulder we are stuck on a rock, stop insulting my dogs name. Moby-Dick happens to be the great American novel."
Near death experiences are supposed to bring people together.

"Lol, lol, guess what Mulder! You're totally like Ahab cause you're crazy and obsessed with aliens and cause chances are you're going to get everyone close to you killed one day (meaning me.)."
I'm still trying to figure out whether this is a compliment or not.

"Omg! I am okay with that because I love peglegs!! You can be Starbuck because you're my best friend and also because you pray a lot. I'll try not to get you killed and none of this is flippant."
Mulder, you must have had one screwed up childhood.

"Yay we're saved! See Scully, I haven't gotten you killed yet."
This is where lots of important stuff happens. Yawn.

"Kapow. I killed an alligator and this is anti-climactic."
Maybe next time you'll be right.

"Sorry Ahab. But this is still a good thing because that alligator ate like 7 people. "
Now they'll go home and Skinner will read the report and roll his eyes at the massive amount of Federal money they just wasted to kill a gator.

"Splash."
Especially because Nessie is still out there. (No, not
that Nessie.) <-Hollar if you got that joke.

I was too lazy to clean, color or fix these screen caps. I didn't even "enhance" them.
TOMORROW IS CHRISTMAS EVE
!!
