Public Service Announcement

I love blogging but I have really been running out of things to say. I tried doing the alphabet theme, but I every time I picked a topic, I realized I'd done it already!

So what do I really love doing? What do I do constantly? Read.

What did I blog about every month last year? Books.

So A Thousand Mad Things will be over, for now. If I ever thing of any other ridiculous things worth blogging about I may come here. Until then, come here.

http://readinganything.blogspot.com/

Every time I finish a book I will blog the title, author, a picture of the cover, and a review. Some reviews might be longer than others, depending on how much time I have and how I feel and how much I liked a book.

I really blog for myself. I mean, I've got like six readers. This new book blog will really just be for my own enjoyment. I really, really, love reading. I really love talking about it. Perfect.

"F" is for French Toast

The best of all the breakfast foods. (Not really, but for all intents and purposes for today it will be.)

Linguistics is the most amazing thing I've ever studied in my life. OMG everyone go learn about morphemes and phonemes and fusional languages and the IPA and the Great Vowel Shift!!

"E" is for Engagement Rings

I always wonder who picked out the jewelry/accessories that a character wears constantly and just how random the decision was. (eg: Amy's initial necklace and her headband, Scully's cross, Monica's silver ring and earring set, Dani's sunglasses.)
One particular accessory that I find myself wondering about are engagement rings and how much thought goes into picking one.

John and Aeryn, Farscape.

Rory and Amy, Doctor Who

Chuck and Sarah, Chuck

Lois and Clark, Smallville

Desmond and Penny, LOST

Obviously not enough thought was put into picking this monstrosity. Hahaha...

"D" is for Diaries

I'm on my fourteenth since I was eleven years old and started keeping one. I write in rather dull composition notebooks with large pages and wide lines, but lovely diaries have always had a place in my heart.

I do own a few pretty ones like this. I just never write anything profitable in them.

"C" is for Christian Websites

Some are amazing, some are cheesy, some overreact, some are just amusing. They all make me feel oddly connected to a kind of ridiculous internet underground thread of over-achieving religious teens.

Plugged In Online. Go for the lulz guys, just go for the lulz.

Boundless. When you're feeling lonely and virginal Boundless will make you REALLY GLAD to be single.

Patrol Mag. Hipsters who love Jesus OR the Christian Slate OR the clean-cut Gawker OR the chillax Plugged In OR the cult of Sufjan.

Relevant. I'd actually never heard of them till I read an interview they did with Zach Levi, who is one of the sexier and more articulate Hollywood Jesus Freaks. Sometimes I feel the need to raise my eyebrow suspiciously, but there are some interesting articles.

Susie Magazine. IT WILL NEVAH BE BRIO. *weeps silently*

Risen Magazine. Kinda like the co-ed Brio. Only no. Because nothing will every be as hilarious as Brio. *still weeping silently.*

I do take my religion incredibly seriously. Most of the time.

"B" is for Barbie Dolls

I secretly adore Barbie.

You know how hard it is for me not to buy the Rapunzel Barbie? REALLY HARD.

"A" is for Adventure

I needed some structure.

Does Disney World count as adventure? It should.
