A new month, more tumblr

So my cousins were over all day and we went in the pool and had pizza in the park like old times and I was generally very busy so this is going to be a lazy post.













Susanne Modeski is in Another Cinderella Story, lolomg. YES I DID WATCH THAT MOVIE AGAIN. Stop judging me, it's only like the fifth time or something...

America is still mine

In honor of the Fourth of July, here is a list of random things that make me feel more patriotic and inhabit the kind of America that I like best.


Percy Jackson. These aren't great lit, but seriously, what is? Each book features a sort of road trip through different parts of America so every part of America is represented. And even though Rick Riordan doesn't have a very descriptive style, it's still vivid and ridiculously American.


American Wing Courtyard. If I am in a majorly patriotic mood, I come here to chill. It's full of crazy American art and stained glass and neoclassic sculptures. It makes you feel like we really do have something to be proud of artistically.


X-Files. Even though the whole point of the show is corrupt government men with power who want to kill us, sometimes it's just like "baseball!" or "sweet potato pie!" and you have to shed a tear for our nation.


Moby-Dick and other whale-inspired things. What's cooler than American nautical folk art? Basically nothing. And come on, it's the Great American Novel and that needs some respect.


Twilight Soundtracks. Because Twilight drips of American culture, so three albums worth of music written specially for Twilight has to be dripping with America too.


Luce Center. I like American art better than European now (Van Gogh, Lichtenstein and Klee aside) and I think it is because of the Luce Center. I've never seen folk art put together on display in such an invigorating way.


Bolt. You knew Disney would wrangle its way onto this list somehow. Bolt might not be Disney's finest achievement. But they travel across the country using a WAFFLE MAP and I am a sucker for anything with a trailer park.


Goldfrapp, Seventh Tree. Goldfrapp is a British artist who wrote an album inspired by the USA. Because of that it's really poignant and epic. And the music is beautiful of course.

So remember, even though we have a crap government, Americans invented like everything awesome. The government is only a small part of a country.

Last Things Tag

I did this back in January, and I'm doing it again.


What was the last song you listened to? The Eclipse soundtrack over and over and over again. My dad is a saint who bought it for us, he actually really likes it.


What was the last thing you watched? I haven't watched a new movie in over two months. I live on a steady diet of Files, Who and iCarly. Speaking of iCarly, last thing I watched was iBelieve in Bigfoot.


What are you wearing? Sweatshirt and shorts. Like this picture only less West-coast-sexy-teen


What was the last thing you ate? A Subway spicy Italian sub, I tried not to have to buy lunch, I really did...


What was the last gift you received? The Making of Fight the Future! Meagan is the best friend ever, she knows me too well. Filled with sexy David and Gillian being sexy.


What was the last image saved to your hard-drive? This.


What was the last thing you drank? Coffee baby, nothing else. Bodega coffee, the really strong kind with too much cream.

Today I rode my SCOOTER. I remember the year I got it, red and black because those were our ISNA colors. You can tell I was a late 90's kid, haha. I miss riding it.
Han and Ben are watching Hoot and Luke Wilson is in it, and basically playing Sheriff Hartwell. Oh my.

Twilight is Sexy,

...dumb, potentially harmful to young girls, over-the-top, bad sci-fi, poor fantasy, and badly written, but it is, in the end, sexy. And the sexy is always accompanied by nice music.

Yesterday was so sunny. Today it's pouring. Curse you weather gods. And after last night I can officially say that I am backing the potential of a Peter/Olivia relationship.
One last thing. I'd like to thank the evil genius who first thought of coffee cake.

Vancouver: It's pretty

I think if someone offered me one trip anywhere I'd pick Vancouver. (Europe not withstanding- if Europe was an option then I'd to go Greece in a heart beat.) My love affair began with Vancouver when I watched the first Twilight movie. (Go ahead and laugh haha.) All purty pics from Flickr.

Today was so weird I can't even go into it here, because it would take to long to explain the weirdness of today. Long story short, I waited in Starbucks for about 3 hours, waiting for something that never happened. And I got soaking wet, obviously. And now I smell musty.

Colors: Blue

I liked posting all about green. Today I'm going to post all about blue. Blue is the favorite color of half the people I know. Seriously.


I can never remember if the sky is supposed to reflect the color of the sea, or the other way around.


Chad Dylan Cooper just wanted to wear a weird beard.

This must be an illustration from some children's book. My sister is obsessed with retro illustration, and always saves images like this into a folder titled "Retro."
